The charming Northern Lights Resort & SPA occupies 160 private acres just 20 minutes south of Whitehorse, with nothing but pine forests and mountains to interrupt the view of Aurora Borealis, nature’s finest light show. Constructed out of Douglas Fir logs, the lodge invites guests to make themselves at home, with a large outdoor Jacuzzi, Finnish sauna, infrared cabin, gym and massage room.
Accommodation is offered in four individual timber chalets – each unique in decor and layout – which are a warm, comfortable base for winter explorations of Yukon’s wilderness. All feature premium bedlinens, large ensuite bathrooms and cosy fireplaces. There are also 3 glass-fronted ‘adults only’ chalets, purposefully built with aurora viewing in mind. A queen sized bed sits right in front of the large floor-to-ceiling wrap-around windows.
Things to do at Northern Lights Resort & SPA include a wide range of wellness treatments, as well as guided Aurora Borealis viewing from an authentic, heated tipi or from the lodge’s large deck. Should you wish to explore the great, white landscapes by day, the lodge offers dogsledding, snowshoeing, ice fishing and snowmobiling. Return to the main restaurant for hearty, healthy, home-style meals and a selection of premium beverages.
