Arajilla Retreat
Arajilla Retreat is a boutique property on Lord Howe Island surrounded by subtropical gardens and close to picturesque Old Settlement Beach where sea turtles can often be seen in the shallows. Arajilla Retreat offers excellent accommodation, personalised service, the island’s only Ayurvedic spa and 12 spacious suites, each with a private outdoor deck to take in the peaceful surroundings.
The property is perfectly placed to enjoy Lord Howe Island’s many enchantments, from cycling quiet roads to snorkelling in sheltered lagoons, walking the many trails or sunbathing on deserted sandy beaches. At the end of the day’s activities, wind down in the guest lounge with complimentary pre-dinner drinks and canapés before an indulgent three-course dinner in the restaurant. The kitchen turns out delicious gourmet meals each day, concocted from fresh local ingredients, produce from the hotel’s own veggie patch, as well as local line-caught fish, such as kingfish, yellow-fin tuna and wahoo.

Wildlife & Birdlife
Lord Howe Island is a veritable Garden of Eden. Over 500 species of fish and 90 species of coral have been recorded and flourish in its protected waters.
This remote island paradise is also home to more than 130 species of native and migratory birds. At the top of the list of sights is the Woodhen, as the island is the only place they can be found. Another rare sighting is the Lord Howe Island stick insect, due to the islands isolation and pristine ecosystem, it is the only known location of the insect.

Lord Howe Island is a two-hour flight aboard a Qantaslink 32-seat Dash 8 aircraft from Sydney. A 14kg luggage limit per person applies on all Lord Howe Island flights. There are luggage storage facilities at Sydney Airport (Terminal 3).
Eastern Air Services also operate flights to Lord Howe Island from Port Macquarie (90 minutes), Newcastle (110 minutes) and the Gold Coast (110 minutes).

Days 1/2
Sydney
Australia’s most well-known city, Sydney has many famous attractions to see. Staying at the up-market Four Seasons Hotel Sydney, the hotel is a stone’s throw from bustling Circular Quay and within walking distance to the Sydney Opera House and the Royal Botanical Gardens. Just 20 minutes away by ferry, with a fantastic beachfront dining scene and excellent coastal walks, Manly Beach is a popular spot to explore. B (day 2 only)
Days 3-8
Lord Howe Island
On day 3, transfer to Sydney Airport for your flight to Lord Howe Island (not included). Staying at superb Arajilla Retreat, the next 6 days are yours to wander this island paradise at your leisure. Learn about the rare birds, plants and geology of the island whilst exploring little secluded coves and pristine coral reefs. At the end of each day, relax at the retreat’s beautiful day spa (extra cost) or in the lounge, before enjoying pre-dinner drinks and canapés served daily.
