One of Africa’s premier eco-friendly operators, Wilderness Safaris has been operating since 1983 and boasts an extensive portfolio of outstanding camps and lodges. Originating in Botswana, over the last 37 years Wilderness have led the way in sustainable travel and now protect over 6 million acres of pristine wilderness. During this time they have continued to lead the way in eco-tourism, lightening their eco-footprint on the land. Many of their camps and lodges now run on almost 100% renewable energy, and are all built using eco-friendly materials such as adobe, thatch and timber.
Their small camps and lodges are all located in private concessions, which offer guests a unique and intimate stay, away from large numbers of tourists. Only Wilderness Safaris lodge vehicles are permitted in these concessions and a limited number are allowed at animal sightings creating a more intimate game viewing experience.
