Southern Tanzania Safari Circuit

Day 1
Dar Es Salaam
You will be met at Julius Nyerere International Airport, Dar es Salaam and transferred to your hotel the Dar es Salaam Serena. If time permits, explore the city’s spice markets and museums or simply relax by the pool.
Days 2-4
Ruaha National Park, Southern Tanzania
After breakfast you will be transferred back to the airport for your flight to Ruaha National Park where a guide will meet you for a game drive through the national park to Usangu Expedition Camp. With just 6 comfortable guest tents and a simple design the camp offers an exclusive and immersive experience, with meals prepared over the open fire and enjoyed beneath the dazzling African stars.
Over the next few days explore by vehicle, by boat and on foot (dry season only). Sleep out in a star cube under the African night sky, take night drives with thermal cameras, watching predators on the prowl and using the latest technology to complement your safari experience.
Days 5-7
Kokoko Expedition Camp, Ruaha NP
After breakfast you will game drive north through the park, looking out for predators like lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, hyena and much more. This reserve is one of the most well-preserved and untouched wilderness areas on the entire continent.
Arrive at Kokoko Camp, an expedition-style tented camp in prime wildlife area. Kokoko offers an exceptionally intimate safari experience for up to six guests, hosted by one of Asilia’s top guides. Each of the three tents has an ensuite bathroom with outdoor shower and a custom-designed retractable roof to provide shade during the day and open for stargazing at night.
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, and night drives to spot nocturnal animals. Dinner is under the stars, surrounded by flickering lantern lights and the sounds of the African bush.
Days 8-10
Nyerere National Park
Today you will fly by light aircraft to your next camp, Roho ya Selous, situated on a small peninsula overlooking Lake Nzerakera in the heart of Nyerere National Park. This reserve is the largest in Africa and home to a large population of wild dog, plentiful hippo, elephant, buffalo, hyena, giraffe and more than 400 bird species. The camp has 8 canvas guest tents with ensuite bathrooms and indoor and outdoor showers and over-bed cooling system.
Relax in the open-sided, canvas-roofed lounge and dining areas, watching wildlife come to the lake. Take a refreshing afternoon dip in the pool. Enjoy a boating safari, watching hippo and crocodile at close quarters. In the evening, gather around the crackling campfire with fellow guests to share stories about your day’s experiences before enjoying a delicious dinner surrounded by the sounds of the bush.
Day 11
Tour ends
After a final breakfast in camp you will be transferred to the airstrip to connect with your flight to Dar es Salaam where the tour ends.
