Europe Luxury Trains

Travel by luxury train across Europe & the United Kingdom

For centuries the United Kingdom and Europe have been the leaders in luxury train travel. There is something traditionally romantic about travelling by luxury train – the aura of glamour, the soothing clickety-clack of the rails, and the sense of wonder as you watch the picturesque countryside pass by the window of your elegant compartment. Steeped in history, the British Isles and European countryside is littered with ancient towns, royal palaces, perched villages and storied castles.

The mystery and old-world charm resonate with modern-day travellers, inspired by novels of the past such as Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express. And who could forget J K Rowling’s epic first novel – Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone – that continues to send children’s minds into a tailspin of imagination as they step foot aboard the magical ‘Hogwarts Express’?

Until the 1950’s trains were the main source of long-distance travel in Europe, but today only a select few offer luxury, multi-day travel with beautiful onboard sleeper carriages and fine dining.

Natural Focus offer an exciting selection of hand-picked luxury train journeys across Europe and the United Kingdom. To discover some of these continue reading:

Europe Luxury Trains FAQ

The beauty of luxury train travel is that you can do it at any time of the year. Of course some times are busier than others, European summer (June-September) is always popular, but it really comes down to when you would like to travel. The months of April, May and October can be a lovely time to travel, as the weather can be nice and its outside of peak season. Of course, luxury trains are spacious and only carry a select number of passages, making crowds only a real issue during off-train excursions.

This really comes down to personal preference and the length of time you wish to be away. Luxury train travel can vary anywhere from 1 to 15 nights onboard. A major factor is also what you wish to see during your travels – whether that is history, iconic cities or beautiful scenery.

Renowned journey’s such as the Trans-Siberian Express, from Moscow to Vladivostok, or the Venice-Simplon Orient Express that runs between Venice and London are considered two bucket-list experiences.
