The multi award-winning Blue Train first launched in 1946 and today remains synonymous with the highest standards in luxury train travel. The Blue Train fleet comprises of just two locomotives, accommodating 52 and 80 guests respectively. All suites have private ensuite bathrooms as well as individually controlled air-conditioning.
Meals are prepared by a team of executive chefs, expertly paired with premium South African wines and served in an elegant dining car on fine china. The two wood-panelled lounges are where you can relax with a drink of your choice, or enjoy traditional English high tea. Make friends or savour a moment of solitude in utmost comfort.
Journeys aboard this five-star hotel on rails take passengers across some of the most beautiful landscapes South Africa has to offer, travelling between Cape Town and Pretoria. Depending on which departure you choose, you may stop at beautifully preserved 19th century town of Matjiesfontein or in the former mining boomtown of Kimberley, where fortunes were made in diamonds.
