The Z Hotel

This absolutely stunning boutique resort is situated close to the northernmost tip of Zanzibar Island, steps from powdery white sands and the azure Indian Ocean. Decor combines edgy London design with laid-back Zanzibari style, so expect chic minimalist spaces filled with modern creations such as ghost chairs by Philippe Starck paired with bespoke furniture made from local hardwoods.

If you’re on your honeymoon or looking for a bit more privacy, there are also two exclusive clifftop villas – the Casa Blanca and the Casa Amarillo – which are about 12 minutes down the road. These villas are fully self-contained and come with a team of staff.

Facilities at The Z Hotel include a large infinity pool, a wide deck furnished with sun loungers and a dreamy day spa. There are two restaurants onsite, a casual cafe as well as an open-air cocktail bar on the rooftop. Things to do at this property include scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing and watersports. Kitesurfing is also available for the active, whilst a sunset dhow cruise is not to be missed.
