The MV Paramhamsa offers cruises between Kolkata and the mysterious Sundarbans, a vast network of mangrove forests and mudflats that lie where the sacred Ganga (a tributary of the sacred Ganges) meets the blue Bay of Bengal. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the enormous wilderness encompassed by the Sundarbans provides critical habitat for Bengal tigers, chital, crocodiles and a variety of birdlife.
This 55 metre-long vessel features four decks, 18 cabins and a terrace restaurant, with a total capacity for 80 passengers. Also available on board is a gym, a steam room, library, TV, gift shop and massage services, along with 24-hour Wi-Fi connectivity.
Throughout your voyage on the MV Paramhamsa, you can expect to visit idyllic fishing hamlets, bustling fish markets where you can purchase seafood to be cooked by the ship’s chef, as well as various wildlife reserves, where you can search for bird and animal life from watchtowers or walkways.
