Formerly the residence of the local maharajah, the gracious 19th century building is steeped in history and character whilst being conveniently close to the holy city’s most famous temples and ghats.    

Choose from just 10 spacious rooms and suites decorated with elegant antique furniture and original artworks from the royal family’s personal collection. Colour schemes are warm and muted, inspired by the flowers – marigolds and jasmines – often floated down the Ganges. A personal butler is at your beck and call, ready to help arrange yoga classes, river cruises, a horse carriage ride or a cup of steaming chai served beneath the hotel’s shady mango trees.
