Owned by the Shangri-La group, this oasis resort is located between rugged mountains and a beautiful azure bay 20 minutes from Muscat. The resort is comprised of 460 rooms and suites in two distinct wings; Family friendly Al Waha and deluxe Al Bandar. There are plenty of restaurants and bars onsite that offer a wide selection of local and international dishes, including a piano bar and poolside café serving light lunches.

The resort offers a range of activities and programs including their Turtle Care Project, which aims to protect the endangered hawksbill and green turtle species native to the beaches of Oman. A dedicated ranger helps to raise awareness amongst guests through educational activities including talks and viewings. Other activities are available such as snorkelling, scuba diving, dolphin tours, beach volleyball, mini-golf and tennis.

There are a number of exciting day tours available when staying in Muscat (extra cost), such as the fascinating forts of Nizwa, exploring the rolling sand dunes of the Wahiba wilderness, and visiting the Al Hajjar Mountains.
