Time stands still at Masoala Forest Lodge, a luxurious outpost located on a stunning rainforest-clad peninsula on Madagascar’s remote northeast coast. Out here, beaches go on for miles, sandwiched between the warm waters of Tampolo Marine Reserve where colourful corals thrive and the lush greenery of primary rainforest teeming with exotic wildlife. Guests at this tranquil property are accommodated in 7 thatched, naturally ventilated treehouses that provide exceptional views from the perspective of tree-dwelling lemurs and birds.

Food and drinks are served in two communal areas known as “The Beach House” and “The Sea Deck”, both comfortably furnished and casual in atmosphere. Expect to find a well-stocked bar, snacks, locally grown and roasted coffee as well as wholesome three course meals crafted using organic produce from the lodge’s own gardens or bought from nearby communities.

Activities at Masoala Forest Lodge centre around exploring the surrounding natural environment. Kayak the sultry Indian Ocean, snorkel pristine rock pools, take guided jungle walks in search of lemurs including the rare aye-aye, swim in a sparkling waterfall and venture into a cave filled with traditional Malagasy tombs. For the nature lover, the Masoala Peninsula is a veritable paradise! Round off each day outdoors with a relaxing massage provided by a skilled therapist.
