A kilometre outside of Franschhoek village lies a lovely original homestead comprised of 14 beautiful guestrooms (including two garden cottages) and 12 luxurious villa suites. Whilst there are many decorative accents that allude to the property’s rich history – such as wicker chairs, French doors and ornate pillars – the luxuries within are undeniably 21st century. Overhead fans keep temperatures comfortable, whilst there is complimentary Wi-Fi and flatscreen TVs should you wish to keep up with the news.
Fine wines and innovative regional cuisine await you in the acclaimed onsite restaurant, which nestles in a building that once housed Franschhoek’s first parfumerie. The Franschhoek Country House & Villas also offers restorative spa treatments, including massages, manicures and pedicures to keep visitors feeling their best.
The famous wineries of the Cape Winelands are right on the doorstep of this charming rural property, as are boutiques, shops and galleries of Franschhoek. For the adventurous, there are plenty of cycle and walking trails to follow in the area, with memorable activities such as hot air ballooning also possible to admire the landscape from high above.
