Comprised of 14 standalone villas, the exclusive Spicers Tamarind Retreat also has a Chef Hat Asian-fusion restaurant and a first rate cooking school. You can spend your days at the property honing your culinary skills with courses in Thai, French, Italian or South-East Asian cuisine.

When you’re ready to leave the kitchen, hit the road and visit the amazing Australia Zoo. Alternatively, explore the extensive network of mountain bike and hiking trails surrounding the property, including a short but very pretty walk to Gardners Falls, which offers some of the best freshwater swimming in the hinterland. You could also play a 9 or 18-hole round at the lovely Maleny Golf Course.

Guest villas are decorated in soothing, natural tones and there are studio, one and two-bedroom configurations. King-sized beds with luxury linens and flat screen TVs are fitted in every unit and most of the villas are positioned far enough apart to impart a real sense of solitude. Some have a fireplace, while others have an outdoor cedar spa tub.

Spicers’ signature day spa – Spa Anise – is represented here and offers a well-trained team of therapists together with a tantalising menu of treatments. Hydrotherapy, facials and massages are all available whilst bridal beauty is a particular specialty.
