Built almost two centuries ago by a noble family whose descendents still reside on the property, Samode Haveli is a unique boutique hotel tucked within the historic walled ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur. A veritable oasis of peaceful luxury, this traditional Indian mansion is surrounded by bustling bazaars, ancient temples and a maze of crooked laneways that lead to Jaipur’s best-known historic sites.

The former royal apartments at Samode Haveli have been converted with great care into 39 guest rooms and suites, whose distinctive interiors pay tribute to the rich history and culture of the city. Expect intricate frescoes, beautifully carved beds and elaborate chandeliers alongside indulgent modern amenities such as rain showers and air-conditioning.

A sparkling Moorish-style pool and adjoining wading pool sit surrounded by inviting sun loungers, while there is also a Jacuzzi, fitness centre and steam room for rejuvenation.
