Botswana Northern Highlights

10 days/9 nights

Days 1-3

Moremi Game Reserve

Fly by light aircraft to Xakanaxa airstrip where you will meet your guide and travel on to your comfortable camp for the next 3 nights. Discover wide open floodplains, lagoons and mopane woodland on morning and afternoon game drives. Search for lion, elephant, buffalo and the endemic red lechwe antelope. Moremi is one of the best game reserves in Africa for viewing the endangered African wild dog.

Days 4-6

Khwai Concession

Head north-east through the Moremi Game Reserve to the scenic riverbanks of the Khwai River, a mosaic of savanna, camel-thorn woodlands and marshy backwaters. Game drives by day and night are possible in this community area as well as explorations of the surrounding wilderness by mokoro (local canoe).

Days 7-9

Central Chobe

Journey through lion and cheetah country en route to Chobe National Park stopping at the Mababe Depression, an ancient dried-up lake bed whose nutritious grasses make it a birder’s paradise. Explore the varying habitats and wildlife of the surrounding hills and the infamous Savute Channel and Marsh, both popular staging grounds for many dramatic African wildlife documentaries.

Day 10

Tour ends Kasane

Depart early for Kasane. Enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe River. Tour ends Kasane.
