The sumptuous Stanley and Livingstone Safari Lodge sits on a private game reserve around 15 kilometres outside Victoria Falls town, offering armloads of old-world charm as well as plenty of modern luxuries. There are 16 elegant, spacious guest suites in total here, many containing classic Victorian features such as wrought iron fireplaces, canopied beds or claw-foot tubs. Yet all have 21st century amenities such as air-conditioning, power showers and Wi-Fi access. A personal veranda affords private views of visiting wildlife.
At the main lodge there’s a restaurant and bar as well as a fire pit and an outdoor terrace for al fresco drinking and dining when the weather permits. There is also a sparkling swimming pool here to pass warm afternoon hours, as well as a comfortable lounge area with a welcoming fireplace for chilly evenings.
Things to do at the Stanley and Livingstone Safari Lodge include game drives on the exclusive acres surrounding the property; all of the legendary ‘Big 5’ are present here, including the rare black rhino, with open vehicles affording up close and personal encounters. Other activities include a tour of the majestic Victoria Falls, a scenic flight over the local area, lunch on historic Livingstone Island and safaris with a conservation focus.
