This secluded tented camp is set in an ancient acacia forest on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, close to the rarely-used Lemala access route into the reserve.
There are just 9 mosquito-proof canvas-covered suites set on timber plinths at Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp, each containing two queen beds with cosy duvets, gas heaters and oversized ensuite bathrooms.
The central mess area is designed for guests to mingle, with generous sofas, plush rugs and a campfire around which safari experiences can be shared. There is also a softly lit dining area and bar, where guests can enjoy delicious meals, pre and post dinner drinks.
The key advantage of staying at Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp is its privileged access to the crater. No time is wasted travelling, as vehicles can reach the floor within 10 to 15 minutes giving guests a full hour’s head start over everyone else in the morning. Walks are also possible into the forest along the crater rim, accompanied by an armed ranger and a Maasai.
