This excellent camp on the slopes of the Olmoti Volcano to the north of the Ngorongoro Crater is unlike any other property in the country. Comprised of 8 perspex-and-canvas dome suites, The Highlands Ngorongoro offers guests a wilderness experience with all the trimmings of a premium luxury lodge.
Each of the domes contain king-sized beds, windows with views onto the camp’s wild surroundings as well as wood-burning stoves for chilly winter evenings. Private ensuite bathrooms contain hot water showers and flushing toilets.
Meals take place in the warm tented dining room, while there is a wood-panelled bar tent and stylish lounge dome dominated by a central fireplace. Things to do outside of this unique property include climbing the Olmoti Volcano, looking for flamingos on the Empakaai Crater floor, spending an afternoon with local Maasai and game drives in the vast Ngorongoro Crater.
