FIORDLAND NATIONAL PARK

Milford Sound Lodge

Exclusive accommodation in New Zealand’s Milford Sound

Renowned Milford Sound sits within the breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Listed Fiordland National Park in the southwest of New Zealand’s South Island. Nestled on the shoreline beneath the high peaks of the Darran Mountains, Milford Sound Lodge is the only lodge in Milford Sound and offers complete exclusivity and a unique way to experience the region.
The lodge offers a number of different accommodation options including Premium Riverside Chalets, Studio Chalets and 2-bedroom Garden Chalets perfect for families or couples travelling together. All chalets are fitted with King beds or two King single mattresses, flat screen television, fully-tiled bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities and incredible views of the surrounding mountains and forest. The Riverside and Studio chalets also feature underfloor heating.
The lodge restaurant, Pio Pio Restaurant, provides guests with light meals during the day and a spot to enjoy excellent coffee. In the evenings, the restaurant offers a delicious 3-course seasonal dining menu, using locally sourced produce. There is also a separate children’s menu. For the mornings guests can enjoy an in-room continental breakfast whilst takeaway lunch options are available for the more avid adventures.
Though remote, the lodge offers a variety of facilities and comforts. The guest lounge is fitted with plenty of comfortable sofas and chairs as well as Wi-Fi access, and is the perfect spot to share stories with fellow travellers about the day’s adventures. There is also a guest kitchen, with gas cooktop and microwave as well as a laundry

Activities at Milford Sound

There are plenty of activities to do in Milford Sound for all travellers. Boat cruises are one of the most popular options that will allow travellers to discover towering waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs and perhaps even some wildlife. Kayaking tours are also possible. From the lodge, there are plenty of breathtaking walks to enjoy; however the best is undoubtedly Milford Track. A half-day walk with a boat transfer is the best way to experience the track without walking the whole thing.
