Wild Coast is a superb Relais & Chateaux luxury tented lodge situated in Sri Lanka’s south, where tropical jungle meets the Indian Ocean. Its 28 cocoon-shaped guest tents feature soaring ceilings, sumptuous four-poster beds and state-of-the-art amenities including Wi-Fi and air-conditioning. Four offer private plunge pools, whilst the rest look over various waterholes which attract a wide variety of birdlife and small animals. There is also a family cocoon, which has two separate bedrooms so both parents and children can enjoy privacy and space.
Activities at Wild Coast Tented Lodge focus on exploring neighbouring Yala National Park or other reserves around it, with the region renowned for its healthy leopard population. Safari-style vehicles whisk guests to the quietest corners of this sensational wilderness, in the hope of uncovering these beautiful big cats, along with Asian elephants, sloth bears and much more. The property also offers excursions to ancient Buddhist sites in the area and decadent treatments in its peaceful spa.
Dining at Wild Coast Tented Lodge is a memorable experience, with a wide range of Sri Lankan and international favourites served at breakfast. Lunch is often enjoyed in the lodge’s exquisite bamboo dining pavilion, whilst post-game drive cocktails and canapes are served outdoors in the stunning gardens. Dinner is usually inspired by nature, and weather permitting, plated up under the stars.
