Tucked beneath gnarled ebony trees, Pioneer Camp consists of 3 secluded suites linked by covered glass walkways boasting unsurpassable river views. Interiors are contemporary, yet sprinkled with items that invoke a sense of nostalgia, from black-and-white framed photographs to leather trunks and restored gramophones. If you’re travelling with multiple generations of family or with a group friends, this sophisticated camp can be converted into a private holiday home for up to 12 guests.
Each suite features its own personal swimming pool overlooking the bush, by which romantic meals can be enjoyed in flickering lamplight. Guests also enjoy access to a large sundeck where relaxing massages can be arranged. Being a Relais & Chateaux property, Pioneer Camp offers superb cuisine, many crafted using family recipes passed down through generations.
Activities at this luxury safari camp include two game drives a day in open 4X4 vehicles and nature walks with an armed tracker to explore a part of Londolozi’s 34,000 acres teeming with wildlife. Serious photographers might opt to book a specialised photography safari, which comes with an exclusive-use vehicle, an expert guide and access to the Londolozi media centre. Children aged 6 and over are welcome at Pioneer Camp – a dedicated Cubs Den program will keep them entertained throughout their stay.

How to get to Londolozi Pioneer Camp
Scheduled or charter flights can be arranged to Skukuza Airport or the Londolozi private airstrip to reach Pioneer Camp. The former is just over an hour away from the reserve by road, whilst the latter is a mere 5 minutes from the lodge.
