Constructed some 90 years ago, Varty Camp is the Londolozi Private Game Reserve’s spiritual heart. Casual and relaxed in atmosphere, kids over 6 are welcome making this a wonderful choice for families. Decor is a charming blend of contemporary with lashings of old-world glamour. Expect modern pendant lights and plunge pools alongside hide rugs, heavy leather trucks and deep wicker chairs.
There are 10 chalets in total at Varty Camp, each fitted with sundecks and private pools. At the main lodge, guests will find a fitness room, massage room and boutique. For yoga, head over to the custom-built deck nestled in the boughs of an ancient tree at neighbouring Founders Camp. Should parents wish to spend a little quiet time wine-tasting or reading, Varty Camp has a dedicated children’s program known as Cubs Den.
Aside from game drives twice a day and guided walks, guests who wish to improve their camera skills can book a specialised photography safari, which includes an exclusive use vehicle, an expert guide and access to Londolozi’s state-of-the-art media room. Leopard may make this 34,000 acre reserve world-famous, yet there are a wealth of other species ranging from elephant and lion down to tiny chameleon.

How to get to Londolozi Varty Camp
Scheduled or charter flights can be arranged to Skukuza Airport or Londolozi private airstrip to reach Varty Camp. The former is just over an hour away from the private game reserve by road, whilst the latter is a mere 5 minutes from the lodge.
