Set on the largest privately owned game reserve adjoining Kruger National Park, Mala Mala Main Camp was the first safari lodge in South Africa to make the transition from hunting to photographic safaris. Its warm, welcoming lounge, dining room and bar are steeped in history, with knick-knacks, animal hides and wall-hung trophies alluding to another era. Guests will also find an infinity swimming pool, a library, fitness facility and expansive viewing deck in this inviting communal area.
There are 18 luxurious rooms and suites in total at Mala Mala Main Camp, all equipped with ‘his’ and ‘hers’ bathrooms, temperature control and private decks. Featuring thatched roofs and rustic decor, accommodations here are very comfortable, with some rooms able to accommodate up to two additional children.
Activities at Mala Mala Main Camp include game drives morning and evening on the exclusive 33,000 acre Mala Mala Game Reserve, with the option of a bush walk after breakfast. Specialist-guided photography safaris are also available here in a dedicated custom-built vehicle with camera mounts and storage boxes.

How to get to MalaMala Main Camp
The nearest airport to Mala Mala Main Camp is Skukuza, which can be reached by scheduled flight from Johannesburg. Flying time is approximately 50 minutes, while the road transfer from airstrip to the lodge takes around an hour.
