MalaMala Rattray’s Camp
Rattray’s on Mala Mala is the most exclusive lodge on the Mala Mala Game Reserve, offering luxury and safaris with “no queue to view”.
The most exclusive of the three properties on the historic MalaMala Game Reserve, MalaMala Rattray’s Camp has just 8 luxury suites that embody old-world grandeur with their claw-footed tubs, plush armchairs and romantic canopied beds. Private verandas are furnished with comfortable cane chairs, a small inviting swimming pool and sweeping river views, with each suite also featuring access to a personal indigenous garden.
The central area comprises of a magnificent library, an elegant dining room and a bar whose walls are hung with photos of pioneers and the reserve in its early days. There is also a large infinity pool here, a fitness facility and safari boutique stocked with a well-curated collection of clothing, jewellery and curios. Meals can be taken in the comfort of your own suite, or at various atmospheric locations around the camp including in the bush.
Activities at MalaMala Rattray’s Camp include early morning and late afternoon game drives and guided bush walks on the exclusive 33,000 acre concession. In addition, the lodge offers specialised photography safaris, led by expert guides in a dedicated vehicle with custom camera mounts, under-seat lighting and extra storage for camera equipment.

How to get to Rattray’s on MalaMala
The nearest airport to Mala Mala Game Reserve is Skukuza, which can be reached by scheduled flight from Johannesburg. Flying time is approximately 50 minutes, while the road transfer from airstrip to the lodge takes around an hour.
