Located at the southern end of MalaMala Camp, MalaMala Sable Camp is the more intimate option for travellers to the Mala Mala Game Reserve, accommodating guests in 6 luxury suites and a two-bedroom chalet known as the “Lion’s Den”. Some rooms are able to sleep two additional children, making Sable Camp an ideal choice for families on safari.
At the main lodge, you’ll find an air-conditioned library, bar, dining room and expansive deck from where wildlife is often seen as they browse the Sand River’s bushy banks or have a drink. A swimming pool nestles in the floodplain at the foot of the Camp, and should you wish to use the fitness facility, there is one close by at Mala Mala Camp.
Things to do at MalaMala Sable Camp include productive game drives within the prolific Mala Mala Game Reserve, famous for being home to all of the “Big 5” especially leopard. Special interest photographic safaris are also available, with a customised vehicle driven by a dedicated expert ranger available for private hire. This 33,000 acre sanctuary is home to cheetah, wild dog and countless other smaller species as well, which can be uncovered on guided nature walks.
