Family-owned and operated, Makutsi Safari Springs is a private reserve which has a very similar ecosystem to neighbouring Kruger National Park. This delightful property encompasses a number of thermal springs which provide valuable water for wildlife and for lodge guests, filling the two large and lovely swimming pools found at Makutsi Main Camp.
Guests at Makutsi Main Camp are accommodated in thatched rondavels which feature ceiling fans and beds romantically draped with mosquito netting. Private terraces provide a place for quiet gameviewing or a relaxing afternoon cuppa. Should you wish to sleep out in the wild, Makutsi Tented Camp sleeps up to 8 people in 4 thatched suites with canvas walls. This rustic campsite is situated on 3,000 exclusive hectares and can be incorporated into a multi-day walking safari.
In addition to walks, guests at Makutsi enjoy classic open-vehicle game drives in the morning and evening. They can also take excursions to scenic Blyde River Canyon and the dramatic Drakensberg Mountains or participate in wildlife conservation and anti-poaching programs.

The most convenient way to reach Makutsi Safari Springs is to fly from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport (approximately 1 hour). The lodge is just over an hour from the terminal by road.
